Competition for Miss Arkansas 2022 officially kicked off today with the Arrival Ceremonies at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock. 45 Candidates vying to become the next Miss Arkansas and 39 Candidates vying to become the next Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 'arrived' today in front of a standing room only crowd. These young women represent the best and brightest Arkansas has to offer and are competing for more than $203,000 in scholarships this week.
Miss Arkansas 2021 Whitney Williams and Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 2021 Shelby Cook were on hand to greet the candidates during the Arrival Ceremonies today. Miss Arkansas 2019 and 2020 Darynne Dahlem served as today's Mistress of Ceremonies.
During today's Arrival Ceremony the 2022 Marketplace Interview Scholarship winners were announced. From left to right in the photo the winning candidates are:
Law Profession Scholarship: $1,500 sponsored by The Miss Arkansas Scholarship Foundation - (tie) Miss Northeast Arkansas Izzy Baughn and Miss Natural State Ciara Callicott
Marty Walker Education Scholarship: $1,500 sponsored by Fence Brokers, Inc. - Miss Steel Capital Piper Stallings
Scott Landers Business Scholarship: $1,500 sponsored by Sandy and Steve Landers and Lauren Landers in Memory of Scott Landers - Miss Dogwood Ebony Mitchell
Nursing Scholarship: $1,500 sponsored by Suzie Barham, Garrett Gresham & Pafford Health Systems, Inc. - Miss Metro Sophe Sligh
Fine Arts Scholarship: $2,500 sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Lou Siegel - Miss Lights of the Delta Anna-Marie Wright
Medical Profession Scholarship: $2,500 sponsored by Jamie Pafford-Gresham and Pafford Medical Services - Miss Arkansas Tech University Alli Beth King
Journalism/Mass Communication Scholarship: $1,700 sponsored by KATV Channel 7 - (tie) Miss White River Cori Keller and Miss Ozark Highlands Jayson Toney
Preliminary competitions will take place June 14-16 at Robinson Auditorium and a limited number of tickets are available on Ticketmaster.
The Teen Preliminaries begin at 3:00 p.m. and the Miss Preliminaries begin at 7:00 p.m.
Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 2022 will be crowned Friday, June 17 with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m. Miss Arkansas 2022 will be crowned Saturday, June 18 with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m.
