Miss Arkansas' Teen 2022

Ka'Mya Tackett

Ka’Mya is a 15-year-old sophomore at Sylvan Hills High School. At Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen, Ka’Mya won a $7,000 scholarship provided by the Miss Arkansas Organization. She will represent Arkansas this summer at the Miss America’s Teen Competition in Dallas. 


During her year as Miss Arkansas Teen 2022, Ka’Mya will make appearances across the Natural State promoting her personal platform of “Mental Garden: Growing Positive Minds for Our Youth,” as well as the Arkansas and America’s Teen programs.


During this year’s state competition, Ka’Mya brought home an additional $2,200 in scholarships for a grand total of $9,200 this year.

In addition to the crown, she also won the Overall Lifestyle and Wellness Award, the Overall Dancer Award, and the Overall Alpha Interview Award. Additionally, she won Most Photogenic, Overall Arrival, Alpha Arrival and was one of the Genesis Award winners.


During the preliminary competition she also won Alpha and Preliminary Lifestyle and Wellness as well as Alpha Evening Gown and On-Stage Question.


Ka’Mya won the title this year as Miss Conway’s Teen.


This was her first year to compete on the Teen stage.


For her talent selection this year, Ka’Mya performed a lyrical dance to “This Is Me.” After Ka’Mya graduates high school, she plans to attend an Ivy League college to obtain a neuroscience degree, and her Doctor of Medicine degree. She would ultimately like to become a neurologist. Ka’Mya has served as an ambassador for Sylvan Hills Junior High and for the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Bears Principle Advisory Council and an NCA All American Cheerleader.


Ka’Mya is the daughter of Tia Proctor-Tackett and Maurice Tackett of Sherwood, and has two younger siblings, Kaycie and Khalid. She is the granddaughter of Charles Proctor of Star City, Gail Moore of Little Rock, Joyce Tackett of Little Rock and Mary and Maurice Tackett, Sr. of Pine Bluff.
