About the Competition
Candidates in the Miss Arkansas Organization at the state and local level gain experience through participation in interviews, talent performances, public speaking, promoting social impact initiatives, and social media interaction. Cash and in-kind educational scholarships are available to all young women who advance to the state competition. To become a Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen candidate, you must enter and win a local competition.
Phases of Competition
The Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen Competition is composed of four main phases:
Evening Gown & On-stage question
Each candidate must have a social impact initiative that they will advocate during their year of service.
Age & Residency Reqs
Candidate must be at least thirteen years of age on the first day of the State Competition and must not be older than eighteen years of age on December 31st of the year of the State Competition.
Must fulfill ONE of the following:
Must reside in the state of the competition
Be successfully enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public or private school, or home schooled within the state of competition.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America

Participate in fundraising for the Miss America Foundation
Meet character criteria set forth by the Miss America Organization.
Be able to meet the time committment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local competition and Miss Arkansas.
